Hello, and thank you for taking the time to check this out!
Even a personal post should be about more than the author. So I’m here to celebrate and thank all those who create (with or without digital tools) quality images that inspire and amplify. To that end, I’ve completely updated all pictures in my catalogue.
From cartoon imagery to wildlife photography—what influenced this change?
Back in April, I started my Substack journey: How can I make sure my work isn’t a complete waste of anyone’s time? Even free posts are paid for with attention. So I thought: maybe I can thank my readers with writing that’s enjoyable and worthwhile.
To entertain, I wrote with humor—analytical animals in action. To offer something more, I landed with humility—questions, suggestions, and/or discoveries. Aside from the writing, I would also come to realize that I needed to show a much deeper appreciation for the work of imagery artists. So I decided to replace all AI-generated images with real-life photos captured on location by wildlife enthusiasts.
Producing a picture can take as much planning, effort, skill and talent—if not more—as careful, focused, researched, nuanced writing. In the same way that we want actual authors behind the writing, it is also essential to value and appreciate the actual artists behind the imagery. We share our humanity with each other. Authentic creativity can forge most meaningful connections.
I invite you to enjoy the awesome photos credited throughout my catalogue. Feel free to leave comments. Believe me: I take your time and contributions to heart.
Let’s be sure to honor the people who make indelible imagery possible. 📸🖼️🎨🧑🎨
I so appreciate your time and attention. As always, if this made you laugh, think, smile, or sigh, please consider adding a like, restacking, or sharing. Thank you for reading my work.
I don't want to be that girl, but I don't see a previous button at the bottom of this post?
I do really like the idea, though, John ❤️
Yip! Just checked out your new photos! Big yes!!! Dare I say, in contradiction of compliments I gave the previous AI, that the new photos are great!! They give a dignity to the voices you’re using. Yes! When we give an animal a voice, we don’t need to ‘disneyise’ it into a cartoon image. There’s more to animal’s voices and rights than Disney stereotypes.
